Changing to Rainbow Fertility, Australia’s First & Only Dedicated LGBTQ+ Fertility Provider

Fertility care should reflect who you are, and at Rainbow Fertility, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. As Australia’s first and only dedicated LGBTI+ fertility service, we’re proud to provide inclusive, affirming, and personalised care tailored to your unique journey to parenthood.

Whether it’s concerns around treatment, feeling disconnected from your care team, or simply wanting a second opinion, Rainbow Fertility is here for you. Switching clinics is more common and easier than many people think, and taking that step can often bring renewed clarity, confidence, and a better overall experience.

And most importantly, you’ll be joining a clinic that truly understands and respects your identity, your family structure, and your path forward.

Whether you’re just starting your journey or midway through treatment, our experienced team will guide you every step of the way to ensure the process is smooth, respectful, and stress-free.

Thinking of Changing Fertility Clinics? Here’s Why It Matters

Changing fertility clinics can feel like a big decision, but it’s more common (and easier) than many people realise.

Whether you’re unsure about your current treatment plan, want to better understand safety protocols, or simply feel that a second opinion could lead to a more positive experience, making the switch could be a step toward better outcomes and greater peace of mind.

How to Change Fertility Clinics to Rainbow Fertility: A Step-by-Step Guide

We understand that the decision to change IVF clinics is one that patients do not take lightly, which is why we make the transition as smooth as possible.

Changing to City Fertility is safe and straightforward, with just three easy steps:

  1. Book an appointment with one of our fertility specialists. You can book an appointment online or contact our Fertility Advice Centre team for assistance in selecting a specialist. The team can also answer any questions you may have about the transfer process.
  2. Obtain a GP referral before your consultation.  This will enable you to claim a Medicare rebate, if relevant.
  3. Speak to our Patient Services team, who will coordinate the transportation and storage of your embryos, eggs or sperm, known as gametes (if applicable). From 1 July 2025, City Fertility is offering free embryo and gamete transport to your nearest clinic, as well as 12 months of free storage.*

We’ll manage the rest with care and precision. Our highly experienced team will oversee every step of the transfer, ensuring your embryos, egg and sperm are handled securely and respectfully throughout the process. We will work closely with you to ensure a smooth and fully supported transition from day one.

What are the Costs of Switching IVF Clinics?

We understand that cost is a significant consideration when considering a change in fertility providers. There are typically two main costs to keep in mind:

  1. The initial consultation with your new fertility specialist
  2. The cost of transferring embryos, eggs, or sperm, if applicable

At Rainbow Fertility, the cost to transfer gametes or embryos includes a specialised courier fee to ensure safe transport, as well as a storage fee at our clinic.

To help support you during this transition, Rainbow Fertility is currently offering free transport of embryos and gametes to your nearest Rainbow Fertility location, plus 12 months of free storage.*

Fee transparency is important to us. You can explore the breakdown of our IVF and fertility treatment costs here: A Guide to Rainbow Fertility Fees.

Why Switch to Rainbow Fertility?

Changing clinics might feel overwhelming, but it’s often easier and safer than you think. Once you’ve selected a new fertility specialist, all that’s needed is a referral from your GP and a quick conversation with our Rainbow Fertility team.
