Easier access to Assisted Reproductive Treatment (ART) for all Victorians

VIC Legislation, ART bill

As of 8th July 2020, Victorians undergoing Assisted Reproductive Treatment (ART) are no longer required to obtain and complete police and child protection order checks before accessing treatment. This change takes place with immediate effect.

This welcome change allows for fairer, affordable, and easier access to ART services, whilst removing the unnecessary delays, costs, and distress associated with the checks.

This new legislation decision now brings Victoria in line with the rest of the nation, which is fair and equitable, for which Rainbow Fertility amongst many others are thankful to the Victorian Government.
