Celebrating 10 Years of Rainbow Fertility

Celebrating 10 Years of Rainbow Fertility:

A Decade of Helping Families Grow 🌈

This year, Rainbow Fertility is celebrating a very special milestone: our 10th birthday!

Since opening our doors in 2016 as Australia’s first and only dedicated LGBTQ+ fertility and IVF service provider, we’ve been proud to support thousands of individuals and couples across Australia as they explore their options, pursue their dreams of parenthood and build families in their own unique ways.

As we celebrate a decade of Rainbow Fertility, we’re reflecting on the journeys, people and communities that have shaped who we are today and looking forward to everything still to come.

It Started with a Simple Belief: Families come in all forms, and fertility care should reflect that.

When Rainbow Fertility launched in 2016 as an initiative of City Fertility, we recognised the importance of creating a fertility service specifically designed to support the LGBTQ+ community. City Fertility had been caring for LGBTQ+ patients for years, but we wanted people to have the choice of a service built around their needs from the ground up.

For many LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, starting a family can involve additional barriers and considerations, from understanding donor conception and treatment options to navigating legal requirements and finding healthcare professionals who understand their unique circumstances.

We wanted to create a place where people could explore their family-building options in a safe space, without having to explain or justify who they are, who they love or what their family might look like.

Our philosophy is simple: we don’t define what a family should look like, we help people create their own. Ten years on, that belief remains at the heart of everything we do.

Growing Alongside Our Community

While we’re celebrating how far Rainbow Fertility has come, we’re equally excited about where we’re heading.

As conversations around LGBTQ+ parenthood continue to evolve, so too does our commitment to making fertility information, services and support more accessible.

In 2026, we opened a dedicated Rainbow Fertility space in Newstead and strengthened our community connections, including our partnership with the Victorian Pride Centre. Together, these create new opportunities for LGBTQ+ individuals and couples to access fertility information and specialist support in an affirming environment.

We also continue to explore ways to bring dedicated LGBTQ+ fertility care closer to the communities we serve.

These initiatives reflect something we’ve believed since the beginning: meaningful inclusion requires ongoing commitment, listening and action. And we’re excited to keep building on that commitment in the years ahead.

Here’s to the Families, the Journeys and the Next 10 Years

A milestone like this is about so much more than the number of years we’ve been here.

It’s about the people who have trusted us with their stories, hopes and dreams.

It’s about the individuals and couples who have taken that first step towards parenthood, the families who have grown, and those who are still exploring what their futures might hold.

It’s about our dedicated specialists, nurses, scientists, counsellors and support teams who bring compassion, expertise and understanding to the work they do every day.

And it’s about the LGBTQ+ community, whose diversity, strength and experiences continue to shape our purpose.

To everyone who has been part of our journey over the past decade: thank you. Thank you for trusting us, challenging us to keep improving and allowing us to be part of your family-building stories.

And if you’re new here, whether you’re ready to take the next step towards parenthood or simply want to explore your options, Rainbow Fertility is here to help.

Here’s to 10 years of Rainbow Fertility, and to many more years of celebrating families in all their forms ðŸŒˆ Thank you for your support along the way.
